Recently got similar feedback during my internship. Was told, "Whenever you're building something that will last beyond the point you stop working on it, leave behind your watermark, something that says Abhishek built this, and if you hold yourself to high standards, that watermark will mean something later too"

"They showed me a loading animation they'd spent three days perfecting. No user requested it. Investors called it wasteful."

Would you argue *for* adding stuff to our products because "we'd be proud of them?"

Extend such an attitude linearly, and you end up with those gargantuan initial versions of anything that fail to get traction. At the end of the day, do they really make the founders proud?

Working extensively with early-stage founders, I beg to differ.
